Hey
guys! Welcome to my final Bachelor In Paradise recap for the season! I know
what you might be thinking. Isn’t there another episode tonight? Well, yes
technically, but all it will be is the final engagements and breaking up. That’s
not much to recap, especially considering the fact that we know who the
engagements are. We’ve been told in interviews and in the trailer that 3
couples get engaged. There’s only 4 couples left, including Nick and Jen, who
obviously break up because he is the next bachelor. So Josh/Amanda, Carly/Evan,
and Grant/Lace all get engaged. They even all had a segment in last night’s
episode where each of the girls talked about wanting to get engaged. There.
Recap over.
So with that being said, I thought I’d use this final post a
bit differently. I read spoilers. I’ve known all along that this was the
outcome. What I don’t know going into the seasons is whether any of the couples
will have a chance at lasting. So, I thought I’d use this blog to detail my
thoughts on each couple and their long term potential.
Grant and Lace:
I’m calling it now. These two are the first to break up.
Neither of them are emotionally mature enough to get married. I know that doesn’t
stop everyone, but in this case it will. I bet they are in for a series of
constant breakups and makeups until one of them does something stupid that ends
the relationship for good. Nothing has been calm about this relationship since
day one, and it will only get worse since they are in the real world. My
advice: come up with a fake reason for why you got your “grace” tattoos. No one
wants a person whose ex is tattooed on them. Also, that tattoo scene was
totally staged. You mean they just happened to get their tattoes done by a couple who
got engaged after 12 days?! Yeah no.
Josh and Amanda:
I go from the couple with the worst chances, to the couple with
the best. Like Josh or not, but these two clearly were the most in love with
each other the whole time. Andi’s book definitely makes him look bad, and
learning how to control his anger would be a good thing, but I doubt he just
hulk smashed everything randomly. Both he and Andi were fairly strong and opinionated
people. No surprise there, Andi used to be a lawyer. Two strong and opinionated
people are going to get into really strong fights. Amanda sticks up for
herself, but I don’t see her as being as confrontational as Andi. Therefore, I
think the problems they would face won’t be as extreme. Do I think they’ll
last? No clue, but I think they have the best shot. My advice: Weather the
storm. If you are really in love, don’t try to convince people that you are.
That will only make them doubt you. (Example: Jordan and Jojo who need to break
up before Halloween so I can win a bet with my friend)
Also, for a little fun statistic: In most seasons of The
Bachelor, the 4th place finisher tends to be married and established
before the other top 4 contestants. There are exceptions, but that has been a
fairly recent trend, so that helps Amanda’s case.
And now for the wildcard couple
Carly and Evan:
I honestly have no freaking clue how they will turn out. I
feel like they will either be over very quickly, or end up married. I even see
an argument for both. They seem cute enough and the awkwardness is endearing. This pairing has even made me start to like
Carly more, and I hated how she acted on The Bachelor and last season of
Paradise. But, it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t have doubts. Let’s look at some of
the facts.
1.)
Carly is 30 years old
2.)
Carly was pretty disgusted by Evan at first.
3.)
Carly couldn’t find anyone else, then got back
with Evan
4.)
Tanner and Jade, her best friends got married on
this show last year and she sees the lifestyle they lead because of it.
5.)
She was dumped last year on this show and that
is constantly in her mind
Now, just 2 of those facts would cause most
girls to settle and “fall in love” in order to be married. Now some of those relationships
do work out, but they are rarely the happiest. I’m not saying that’s what their
relationship is, but if it was I wouldn’t blame her one bit.
My advice: Reevaluate if this relationship
is the real deal and if so then keep doing what you are doing. If not, you’re
eggs aren’t dry at 30, you can find someone you are more in love with.
There you have it. My thoughts and predictions for
this newest round of couples in the Bachelor franchise. Let me know what you
think/whether you agree in the comments. Have a great day!
P.S. to my readers: Don't worry about Bachelor In Paradise and Big Brother ending soon. I already know that I will recap the show Survivor to keep the blog going in the meantime. Whether I recap another show is up to you and your suggestions.
